Tips + Tricks
Here is some IMPORTANT information for all of my hair color clients. Please DO NOT disregard this information. This information will help you tremendously in maintaining your hair color and keeping it healthy.
The Do’s
Wash your hair as little as you can. For example, if you’re someone who likes to wash your hair every single day, try washing it every other day, or even every 3rd day. The less you wash your hair, the less dry it’ll be and the longer your color will last.
Use lukewarm to cold water to wash your hair. Hot water will cause your color to fade faster and create more frizzy hair when dry.
Sleep with a satin hair bonnet on or sleep on satin/silk pillowcases to prevent breakage and dry brittle hair.
Fully blow dry hair or completely air dry, and put your hair into a loose braid to sleep in. This also prevents breakage. Regardless of how you put your hair up, or put your hair in, you should ONLY sleep on fully dried hair.
The Don’ts
Never sleep on wet hair! This causes breakage and unruly, unmanageable hair.
Do not put your hair up in tight buns or ponytails every single day. This especially applies to our platinum blonde babes.
Avoid sleeping on cotton pillowcases.
If you have blonde or a fun bright hair color (pinks, blues, purples, etc) then do not use shampoos that are invigorating, detoxifying, or clarifying. These will strip out your so quickly.
Avoid getting into chlorine pools, mineral rich lakes, or salt water with freshly colored hair.
